Will the Hauppauge Wintv-video DVR record a Directv HD signal?

    Yes, but only in SD. You won’t be able to record HD.

    Update

    Because the only input it has is coaxial, and it’s tuners are for over the air digital TV or analog TV. The Directv signal is incompatible.
